Crew planning for river cruise ships
Who works when, how many hours, who sleeps where and who stays on board in port – for the nautical crew and the hotel crew together.
Two crews, one ship
A river cruise ship sails with a nautical crew and a hotel crew, often from many countries, changing every few weeks. Rosters, hours, cabins and documents end up in different lists. RiverBase keeps them in one place, per ship.
What you get
- Roster – rotations like 14/14, 21/21 or 28/28, with changes per day; pick per department who you want to see.
- Day sheets and hours – start and end times per person per day, a month overview, and weeks signed by the crew member.
- Clock in and out – on the phone or on a tablet in the crew mess, with a personal PIN.
- Crew cabins – who sleeps where, with the number of beds per cabin – also hotel crew in a nautical cabin and the other way round.
- In-port manning – who stays on board in port, approved by the captain, with a reminder for everyone on the list.
- Crew Daily – the programme of the day for the crew, approved by the hotel manager.
- Crew documents – licences and medical certificates with a warning before they expire.

Questions
Can every crew member see their own roster?
Yes. Crew members with a login see their own roster, day sheet, cabin and documents on their phone.
Can we switch off rosters or day sheets?
Yes. Per company you choose whether you use hotel rosters, day sheets and clock in/out.
Does it replace our payroll system?
No. RiverBase records the hours worked and shows the totals per person per month, as a basis for payroll.
